Press Release - When Being "Malicious" Means You Just Give A Damn.

Malicious Women Candle Co. has never been just about candles. It’s about voice. About action. About standing up when silence is more profitable. And apparently, that makes us “too political” and full of “hate speech.”

If you are new here, or just need a reminder, our name came from real, late-night conversations between me and my best friend, Laura. We would replay moments in our lives and ask, “What would you have said if you had been just a little more malicious?” After Laura lost her battle to suicide, this mission became even clearer. I will not stay silent I will say the things now, while I still have the chance.

After posting my new fundraiser candle on Facebook Wednesday, The Right came after me hard. Yesterday, a former retail partner publicly announced on Facebook they will no longer carry our products due to what they call an “extreme political stance.” The stance in question? Believing in basic human decency. Advocating for bodily autonomy. Raising funds for a family ripped apart by a wrongful deportation, an act the U.S. government itself admitted was unjustified.

She also requested to return the 13 candles she ordered, as if that’s some kind of financial power move. But hey, if sending back a dozen candles makes her feel like she just toppled the resistance... congrats on the revolution, Kelly.

Kilmar Garcia was in the U.S. legally, under protected status. No criminal record. No gang ties. Just a hardworking man separated from his wife and children until people like us raised our voices and demanded better. He was waiting for his Immigration court date. He fled his country. Yes, he entered illegally, but then followed the process to make it right. I chose to make a candle to support his wife and children during her fight. Proceeds from the candle are going directly to support her and her children as they fight to stay together.

At Malicious Women Co., we believe in due process. In LGBTQ+ rights. In women’s rights. We believe healthcare should be accessible, justice should be equitable, and that human rights and citizenship should never come with a price tag.

When a president starts selling “Gold Citizenship Cards” for five million dollars, it stops being politics and starts being a parody of democracy.

We believe a woman shouldn’t have to choose between groceries and her voice at the ballot box. The SAVE Act is a direct attack on that voice, on a woman’s right to vote, by requiring forms of ID that many simply can’t afford. Tying voting rights to a $160 passport, especially for women whose legal names may not match due to marriage, is not protecting democracy. It’s gatekeeping it.

We believe rights should be protected for everyone, not just those with privilege, wealth, or proximity to power. Because democracy isn’t democracy unless all of us are included.

We will not be silenced. Not for profit. Not for comfort. And certainly not for the approval of those who are more offended by resistance than injustice.

And if you think I won’t use my own damn trademark to say exactly what I mean, think again. Bitches Against Bullshit™ is mine, and I choose to use it boldly. Right now? It’s Bitches Against Trump’s Bullshit because I can. And because someone has to.

We are Malicious because we speak the truth out loud, even when “polite society” wants women to whisper. We are Malicious because we challenge the status quo. Because we believe doing what’s right matters more than being liked.

People over candles. Always.

That’s not just a tagline. It’s how I run this company.

I’ve built a workplace where moms don’t have to choose between a sick child and their paycheck. Where women can build retirement accounts that we match. Where every employee has platinum medical, dental, and vision insurance with $5 copays because caring for your health shouldn’t be a luxury.

Our impact reaches far beyond wax and wicks. We support food banks. We champion mental health. We show up when it matters most, and we’re not backing down now. Not for anyone.

If that makes us too political, too loud, too Malicious… so be it.

Because this is what it means to be Malicious:

We reject all expectations of what a woman or a candle should be.

We rebel against social norms and stereotypes.

We say the things the world wants us to keep quiet.

And when one of us falls, we all gather to pick her back up.

To our community, our customers, and our fellow loudmouths who are done being

polite: Thank You. We are not for everyone. We are for the ones who fight back.

Stay loud. Stay Strong. Stay Malicious.

I’ve never read anything more inspiring! I feel exactly like you feel, I’m sick and tired of what is going on in our country, people still blaming President Obama for hate, always putting what wrong they’ve done on the other guy, I will and do stand stand up to anyone to agrees with this son of bitch and can’t see through his bullshit.
I appreciate you and what you stand for, for the the good of the people, for our rights as an American citizen, for simply what is the
difference between right and wrong! I’m on your side, I have your back, I believe in people, we will stand up and say enough is enough!! Thank you for what you do and I will love supporting you and your candles, GOD BLESS YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO!!

I found my home. You are me. I am you. Your blog is every fiber of my being as a woman. I love your candles (I’m definitely buying to support Kilmer’s wife and family).

I’m 67 years old and have never been so fucking angry at how our country has taken us so far backwards with the puke in the White House. I’m using my voice to fight back.

I’ve got your back, you’ve got mine. Thank you for all you are doing.
